Gov. Kenneth Francis Kamuokalani Brown.

Hawaii Governor Abercrombie has ordered flags to half staff as a mark of respect for the memory of Chief Warrant Officer 2 Edward Balli. Balli, 42, of Kapolei, was killed in an insurgent attack in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, on Jan. 20.

Flags to Half Staff in Hawaii in Honor of King George Tupou V of Tonga

Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie ordered that the state flag be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Tuesday, March 27 in memory of the late King George Tupou V of Tonga. Tonga will be holding funeral and burial ceremonies March 26-27, according to the governor's office.

US Flags at Half Staff in Hawaii in Honor of former State Representative Samuel Sang Hoy Lee

Governor Neil Abercrombie today ordered that all national and Hawai'i flags at all State offices and agencies as well as the Hawai'i National Guard are to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, February 18, 2012 in memory of former State Representative Samuel Sang Hoy Lee.

Former Representative Lee served the Mililani district from 1986 to 1996. He was succeeded in the House of Representatives by his partner in life, Marilyn.  Prior to serving in the House, Sam Lee served in the Department of State’s Foreign Service.
